End of the road for Lindsay
IT WAS sadly the end of the line for Malahide's Lindsay Hamilton on Sunday night's show, as the songstress was knocked out of the competition.
Lindsay went head-to-head with Sinead Fox in the ' battle' round of The Voice of Ireland, with coach Brian Kennedy prefering Fox's performance of 'I Try'. Lindsay's audition for the show was perhaps one of the most memorable after she stood up to an opinionated Kian Egan.
During her audition, the Westlife star accused her of 'putting on' her performance of Faith but quick as a flash, the Malahide songstress fought back saying Kian was 'going for the ratings'. When fellow judge Sharon Corr laughed: 'she doesn't like you Kian', he replied: ' That's alright. I didn't like her either.' But Brian Kennedy rode to Lindsay's rescue and happily picked her to form part of ' Team Brian'.
Lindsay is a stay-at-home mum and has one son, Riloh, who is three-years-old. In her spare time she makes art and jewellery, takes photographs and sells her pieces at fairs around Dublin for extra money. Singing is her favourite creative outlet. She says her voice is suited to jazz and the blues and she plays the keyboard, some drums, and the kazoo. She has been writing her own songs since she was a child and has her own style of writing, which she calls 'Romantic Realism', describing it as a mix of genres.
