Queens of the course enjoy Captain's Day
LADIES TAKE TO THE FAIRWAYS
Wednesday September 08 2010
THE queens of the course were back in action last week as the Rolestown Inn Ladies Golf Society held their annual Captain's Day. The group took the name from the former Rolestown landmark, which has since been redeveloped into Kettle's Country House, where the ladies held a function last Friday week. Some 53 of the 58 members took to the fairways at Balcarrick Golf Club during the morning in fine weather and in the end, Michelle Dehane ran out the overall winner.
Michelle received her prize during a presentation ceremony held in Kettle's that evening, where the members were treated to dinner and dancing.
' It was a gorgeous day and all the girls enjoyed it,' lady captain, Anne Dynes, reflected. ' We had a meal in Kettle's with a live band and presentations.
' I'd like to thank all the girls for their support throughout the year. All of the presents and prizes were just overwhelming and I was very appreciative. The day itself was just great, from start to finish.'
