CELEBRATIONS were in full swing in the pubs and clubs of Swords and it seemed you couldn't move for the parties taking place. The Old Schoolhouse Pub is always a good place to hold a bash on any occasion and there were certainly a few informal get-togethers in full swing when After Dark dropped by on Friday night.

First up, were came across Brendan McGuirk, Alan Leetch and Carol O'Brien, who had brought out their friend Jonathan Gaule for a special celebration. Jonathan had just landed a new job as a community rugby officer with Swords Rugby Club and his pals decided to mark the great news with a few drinks.

Already part of the club's first team down at ALSAA, Jonathan will be coaching and promoting rugby in and around Swords and was thoroughly looking forward to his new role.

Elsewhere, Ross Heeney and Craig Sherlock were in great form, gearing up for a bumper weekend, which was once more packed with sport.

The trials and tribulations of following Premiership football was again the topic of conversation amongst most of the male contingent and with the up and down starts most teams had made, it's shaping up to be a thrilling season. Robert Murphy and Alan Kelly were another pair of gents chewing the fat when we caught up with them and they were chuffed to pose for a photo.

The celebrations continued across the road at Wright's Café Bar, with a big bash in full swing at the Malahide Road pub. Audrey Corr from Rush was marking her birthday in style and was joined in Wright's by a host of friends, including Susan O'Rourke. Monica Willis and Nicole Mooney were also amongst the crowd set to dance the night away in the nightclub that night.
