Cock Tavern pulls in local punters
CHILLED OUT ATMOSPHERE AT SWORDS SPOT
WITH St Patrick's Day just around the corner and those Lent vows quickly feeling like a lifetime away, there was never better buzz on Swords Main Street. Last Sunday in The Cock Tavern proved this point as the place was packed with people counting down to the most important day in an Irishman's calendar.
The Cock is ideal for anyone who wants to start their Paddy's Day celebrations early, as it prides it self on being a traditional Irish pub.
'Swords' best kept secret' is used to rave reviews from its mass amount of regulars and irregulars and Nightowl caught up with a few familiar faces that occupied the pub last Sunday. Swords man Alan Hendrick was joined by Anne Hendrick last Sunday and the happy couple were seen soaking up the atmosphere courtesy of The Cock.
Enjoying a quiet drink, Alan and Anne marked the night with a quick snap.
This was a recurring theme throughout the night, as fellow Swords couple Jason Drennen and Fiona Cummins had similar plans. The duo were seen having a chilled night out in the Main Street venue and both smiled for the camera before continuing on with their night. We then caught the attention of David McConnon. Perhaps with one eye on the Zaragoza v Atletico Madrid football match on the big screens, David capped off the night with a happy picture with Evelyn Hannon.
Elsewhere, down the road in Wright's Café Bar, the theme continued as Balbriggan's Brian Bolton was also getting in the mood for St Patrick's Day when he posed with Raheny girl, Stacy Pool.
Both of whom, unfortunately, had work the following morning thus making the occasion a brief, but enjoyable affair.
