LOCALS put their general knowledge to the test at the weekend as they participated in a fundraising table quiz in Rush Sailing Club.
Organised by the club to raise funds for Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children to add to the fundraising efforts of local man Martin Weldon who wants to give something back to the hospital for all the care they had given his daughter Eva over the last 10 years.
Martin, from Rush, along with several of his friends including Michael Grant, Dermot McNamara, Gary O'Brien, Charlie Armstrong, Brendan Duffy and Kieron Gramham, recently completed a 100km walk around the Ring of Kerry to raise funds for the hospital.
' The quiz was very successful and the club was packed,' said Claire Mullen of Rush Sailing Club.
' There was a great atmosphere and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.'
The total raised on the night was € 1,300 which brings the amount raised through the sponsored walk to nearly € 10,000 for the hospital.
The organisers of the quiz would like to thank everyone who turned up to participate in it and those who sponsored spot prizes.
