IT'S hard to believe the summer time is officially over, given the month of August is technically the start of the autumn, although the glimpses of sunshine over the Bank Holiday weekend kept the warm vibes going.

There was certainly a summery feel to Swords last Saturday, on what was the last day of the summer, and revellers in the Fingal capital were making the most of the extra day off coming up. With the pre-season football friendlies on the tv earlier and crowds flocking west for the Westlife and Leonard Cohen concerts, the holiday mood was infectious, particularly given the number of parties taking place in the Old Boro Pub. That was the exact spot where Linda Treahy decided to mark her 30th birthday with a huge bash and After Dark was there to catch up with all the fun.

Linda, who hails from Swords, was in great form on the night and was joined by close friends Tara Cashman, Deirdre Melia and Denise O'Brien.

The four girls have been pals for years and were amongst the first to wish Linda all the best on her big night out.

Catherine Woods, Siobhan Cregan and Helen Maguire were also enjoying the celebrations, the three of whom were work colleagues of Linda's in a local creche.

Elsewhere, Rachel Nolan and Geraldine McKeon were spotted amongst the crowds, along with Louise Cush, who again sang Linda's praises, as she reached the big 3-0.

The celebrations were set to continue into the wee hours - or indeed, into the next month or season. Happy birthday Linda.
