Local Notes

Robswall Park

Wednesday September 16 2009

CALLS for the placing of a bin to tidy up the entrance to Robswall Park in Malahide will have to wait until at least next year, according to the council officials.

Cllr Peter Coyle (Lab) asked that a bin be provided at the L ime t ree Avenue/Paddy's Hill entrance to the park which he said was a very popular walking route and was beginning to see a lot of littering.

Cllr Coyle told a meeting of the Malahide/Howth Area Committee that 'cans and bags with dog litter' could be found at the entrance to the park.

Public bins

The council's Environment Department said that its budget to provide new public bins had been 'substantially reduced' and its allocation for this year was used up. It committed however to looking at the location and if it deemed a bin was required there, the project would be included in next year's programme of works.
