THE volunteer crew from Skerries RNLI Lifeboat Station are Boston bound. An official invitation to participate in the city's St Patrick's Day Parade was received by the volunteer crew at the end of last summer. Senior helm and trip organiser, Eoin McCarthy said: 'After much discussion, the crew decided it was an invitation not to be refused and so they started saving.

RUSH Musical Society (RMS) is set to go international this month with a huge production of 'Fiddler on the Roof' scheduled for performances in Sweden. Speaking about the planned show, a spokesperson for the group: 'In these times of economic doom and gloom Rush Musical Society, like many other amateur musical and drama groups throughout Ireland, are once again coming to the fore in providing our communities with much needed opportunities to forget their troubles and escape to the wonders that live theatre provides. Juveniles get kitted out for new season

AS FINGAL Ravens juveniles embark on an exciting new season they will have some new threads to wear thanks to two very generous local sponsors. With three new girls' teams launching this season, two of which lined out for the first time last weekend, the need for kit is greater than ever in the club's juvenile wing. Joe McLoughlin from Roganstown Golf and Country Club kindly stepped into the breach with an offer of sponsorship and he was joined by Billy McGrane of Swords Launderette who went out of his way to help the club out. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the two local men, the Rolestown club were able to kit out their many juvenile teams in new gear to have them looking spick and span and ready for action for the new season. Chairman of Ravens juveniles, Alan Manning, speaking on behalf of the club, said he could not thank Joe and Billy enough for their help and said their sponsorship was really appreciated by everyone involved in the club. He told the Fingal Independent: 'Kitting out all the teams is a costly business and when somebody steps in like this and offers their help it makes a huge difference to us in terms of the amount of fundraising we have to do - we can't thank them enough.'
