THE Aer Lingus Motor Club is once again reflecting on a successful rally event, which saw souped up Ford Escorts take to the roads around Fingal.

This year's event, sponsored by CityNorth, featured nine stages, taking in some 180km of competitive stage kilometres. Damian Cole with Craig Drew won The 2010 City North ALMC Stages Rally on his first visit to the event.

Damian brought his Ford Focus RS WRC05 to the finish at the City North Hotel having spent the day battling with Michael Barrable. Damian has now scored four wins out of four in the 2010 Richard Eager UK Asphalt Championship.

Swords man and ALMC member Michael Barrable with Damien Connolly alongside was second overall.

Michael led the rally throughout the day until he lost 15 seconds on special stage eight, his Ford Focus suffering from a misfire through most of the day.

UK Asphalt championship front runner Simon Mauger recorded third overall, Simon also winning the inaugural ALMC Mk2 Escort Challenge.

Fourth place overall went to Trevor Mulligan also in a Ford Escort Mk2 with Michael O'Brien in his Ford Focus rounding out the top five places.

The second half of the rally top 10 was led home by Brian Brogan in his Escort Mk2 followed by Declan McNaughton in a similar machine.

Group N honors and first in the Irish Mitsubishi Evo Challenge went to Sam Moffett who drove a tactical rally to come home 8th overall and top group N competitor.

Ninth place went to Welsh competitor Neil Williams and co-driver Eurig Davis in their Ford Escort Mk2 followed by Stephen Cullen from Dublin his Subaru Impreza N12 closing out the top ten.
