A JOURNEY that began at Tallaght Stadium in November has continued throughout Fingal and there are plenty more stops planned along the way. The FAI Cup holders have been eager to let as many Sporting Fingal fans get their hands on trophy and the 'cup tour' has already clocked up hundreds of miles.
'It is planned that the trophy will take in over 100 primary and secondary schools in Fingal in the coming months, as well as supporters clubs, pubs, and businesses,' club promotions officer Conor Cullen said.
Rush National School, St Catherine's National School, Rush and St Cronan's National School in Swords were the latest destinations and a number of Fingal stars were in tow.
Sportstar of the Year, Conan Byrne, joined his teammates Shaun Williams and Lorcan Fitzgerald and the three received a great reception from pupils, parents and teachers alike. Conan meanwhile also brought the cup to Jim Markey's Menswear in Drumcondra for the launch of their spring summer collection, where he met brothers and Sporting Fingal fans Alan and Declan Markey, who are both from Malahide.
