' Forward planning' plan backed by Fine Gael TD

Iarnród Éireann is seeking to have a future DART connection to Dublin Airport from the newly opened Clongriffin station included in the new Development Plan.

THE prospect of a DART link to Dublin Airport has got the backing on one local TD, who described it as ' forward planning. Fine Gael deputy leader, Dr James Reilly, said he fully supported the proposed extension of the DART line, which he added would benefit both residents and employees in the area.
' Clongriffin DART station is very close to Malahide and Portmarnock DART stations and a DART line to Dublin Airport would be very convenient for residents and indeed airport workers who reside in these towns,' Deputy Reilly said.
' This forward planning public transport proposal for a DART link is complementary to project Metro North, which I fully support as a strategic transport and job enabling initiative in north Dublin.
