Fun through Irish for youths
THE Balbriggan Youth Service is holding a Gaeltacht week for young people in the Balbriggan area in conjunction with Foras Na Gaeilge.
The week, beginning August 2nd, is part of an initiative to encourage young people aged 13 to 16 to actively and consciously engage in developing their command of conversational Irish all while having great fun.
The Gaeltacht week will include classes, cookery, a treasure hunt, movies, a table quiz, céilí dancing and an overnight trip to an adventure centre where young people can get stuck into outdoor activities and water sports.
Foróige, which runs the youth service, is derived from the Irish phrase 'forbairt na hoige' meaning 'development of youth'. Young people can sign up for the week now at the incredibly low price of € 20.
