Indie kings ready for New Year's bash

Wednesday December 23 2009

INDIE kings, Delorentos, round off their return to form with two Christmas shows this week, ahead of a spectacular New Year's bash.

After nearly splitting, the group released their second album 'You Can Make Sound' to great aplomb earlier in the year and have continued touring the country. The lads play the Dew Drop Inn in Kill on Wednesday, December 23rd, with an all-ages gig in the afternoon. And they'll be the headline act at Phantom Fm's New Year's Eve Party in the Academy, along with fellow Fingallians, Noise Control and Heritage Centre, also on the bill.

'We started the habit of playing New Year's shows a couple of years ago and they've been an absolute blast, so grab tickets while you can,' guitarist Ro Yourell said on the group's website. They have also completed a video for their next release, but are keeping quiet which track it's for. The album will, however, be hitting European stores in 2010.

' We've just finished shooting a video with the Tisch School in association with Hotpress,' Ro added.

'We're in the process of making a few videos in advance of next years releases in Ireland and further afield.
