Public order charges
Wednesday July 28 2010
A SWORDS man facing two public order charges has been remanded for five weeks.
Thomas Donoghue, Abbeylea Avenue, appeared before Judge Patrick Brady at Swords District Court last week.
Donoghue, who is 26, was charged with public intoxication and engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour in a public place
Prosecuting officer, Sgt Paul Madden, told the court he had evidence of the defendant's arrest, charge and caution by certificate, adding it was the accused's first time in court in relation to the alleged incident.
Sgt Madden added it would be 'wise' for Donoghue to seek some legal advice, before Judge Brady told him to 'consult a solicitor'.
The case was adjourned until Wednesday, September 1st, when a plea will be heard.
