Silver lining in the bust for new business
FINDING the silver lining in the recession's cloud is a fledgling company run by a Swords man who aim to deliver office furniture to people turning to working at home.
Alan Spain is the man behind the innovative web-based business that can supply everything you need for the home office.
Alan told the Fingal Independent: 'I have recently set up an online office furniture company supplying home and office all around Ireland with free next day delivery.
'I had noticed the niche in the market as with the recession a lot more people are working from home, down sizing their operations and also starting up new businesses with small office needs.'
The Swords businessman said: 'I offer up to 50% off RRP prices and free nationwide delivery.
'With the opening of IKEA, I felt that there was an opportunity to cater for businesses outside the greater Leinster area with a fast and reliable furniture service.'
Indeed the company offers locals a chance to get their office furniture without leaving home and braving the crowds that have swarmed around the giant IKEA store since it opened a few weeks ago. The Swords company went live online on July 31st and there are a number of very happy new customers all around the country. Explaining how he got into the business, Alan said: 'My own personal background is in hotel management and then into IT sales and office Interiors and furniture.
'I'm 30 years of age and live in Swords, Co Dublin, where I also run the company from.' The company's website is www.smallofficefurniture.ie and it is open and ready for business for all those people who have found themselves building their career from home. No order is too small or too large for the company and while there is assembly involved in putting a lot of the furniture together, full and simple, step-by-step instructions are always provided.
