Wednesday March 10 2010
TWO up-and-coming fashion designers have made it to the final stages of a prestigious competition,
Separate entries from two Malahide students, Emmy Slattery and Amanda Grogan have made it through to the final of the DIT Alfa Romeo Fashion Show, which has a 'Rock Revolution' theme.
Run entirely by students from DIT colleges, a major element of the show is the National Student Design Award at which the Malahide designers will both be hoping to wow the judges.
It takes place in Vicar Street on Wednesday, March 24th. Tickets cost € 20 for students and € 25 for non-students and are available from DIT Student Union shop and from Tickets.ie.
This year's winning student designer will receive € 2,000 plus a specially commissioned trophy and there will also be big prizes awarded to the best male and best female model.
All proceeds raised this year will go to the DIT Foundation, in particular to the Student Assistance Fund, which helps students who are in financial difficulty to complete their studies.
