'THE Apprentice' may be grabbing all the headlines these days, but the next wave of budding entrepreneurs are gearing up to make their mark.
Students across Fingal are putting the final touches to their business plans, with the Fingal County Enterprise Board's Student Enterprise competition on the horizon. Amongst the companies set to be in contention this year are the boys behind Planetdood.tk, a new website made specifically for the secondary school market. Run by Coláiste Choilm students Karl O'Brien, Tadhg Dalton, Gary Dineen, Glenn O'Reilly and Dylan Farrell, as part of the school's Young Entrepreneur Programme, the site offers a range of features, from reviews and music videos, to chat rooms and 'school stuff',
'It has games, pictures and videos, combining all the websites our age group would visit,' Karl told the Fingal Independent.
'It's been made for the secondary school scene and we're in talks with companies to get sponsorship on it. It would appeal to a wide variety of ages.' The Swords school will hold a market day in November, with the Fingal, regional and national heats of the enterprise competition set to kick-off in the new year.
In the meantime, log onto www.planetdood.tk and have a look for yourself.
