Swords looks set to escape a number of closures by the home entertainment chain, Chartbusters. Some 17 stores are to shut in the coming weeks with the loss of 60 jobs.
However, it is understood the prominent Dublin Road store will not be affected.
Chartbusters went into examinership in January with debts of € 20 million, prompting fears of further job losses in Fingal.
The High Court last week heard the company had a reasonable prospect of survival if the cutbacks were carried out.
A total of 267 people are employed throughout the 37 stores nationwide, 18 of which are located in the Dublin area. The company specialises in providing internet access and tanning booth facilities, as well as DVD and game rental.
