A LANDMARK Swords supermarket will undergo a major relaunch this week and is set to star on the small screen.
JC's on the Rathbeale Road will hold a party this Thursday, November 19th and the RTÉ cameras will be there to capture the day's events as part of a new show.
The store will feature on the 'Retail Therapy' programme, presented by Feargal Quinn, as one of six Irish retail businesses who receive help and advice on how to survive the economic downturn.
'We've been doing a programme with Feargal Quinn and RTÉ, where he's come in and given us advice,' Michael Savage of the store's management team explained.
'He has consultants behind him and they've recommended things we should be doing. We'll be putting all of these in place and having a relaunch.'
A family run business, the Savages have been trading in Swords for over 150 years, while JC's Supermarket opened in November 1977.
The largest 'truly' independent retail grocery outlet in Ireland, the store covers an area of over 25,000 square feet and its new look will be revealed this week. Customers can look forwards to spot prizes, wine and food tasting, glasses of bubbly and some patented JC's bargains.
'We're relaunching the store with an event this Thursday at 11am,' Michael continued. 'We'll be closing the store for half an hour beforehand.
'We'll have bargains, samples going out and champagne and all of our customers are welcome.'
The store, meanwhile, will hit tv screens in the New Year, with the episode set to be aired in January.
