ALL roads lead to Lawless Park for Dublin GAA fans on Sunday as Fingallians host the annual Dubs Stars clashes in both football and hurling.

It promises to be a proud day for the Swords club, who celebrated its 125th anniversary alongside the GAA in 2009 and as well as marking that considerable milestone the club will be showcasing its brand new floodlights.

'It will be a huge day for us,' enthused Fingallians PRO, Paul Gormley. 'It will put us on the map a bit more because there is huge national interest in these games every year.

'It's also the official opening of our new facilities and GAA President Christy Cooney will perform the official ceremony between the two games. The floodlights were the main development, but we also built a new 'ball-wall' and four-lane running track.'

Fingallians were also delighted to learn that their star man, Paul Flynn, will line out at midfield for Dublin, while club colleague, Ciaran Farrell, will take his place among the substitutes.

Also on Pat Gilroy's panel will be Ballyboughal hotshot Gerry Seaver, whose scoring heroics helped the Balgriffin outfit claim the Dublin Junior Championship title last year.

On the hurling side of things, all eyes will be on Shane Ryan as he switches codes for the first time. The St Sylvesters and Naomh Mearnog clubman last lined out for the Blues' hurlers in 2001, and opted to turn his attentions back to the smallball game after failing to start a single competitive game under Gilroy last term.

Anthony Daly has revealed he will give Ryan every opportunity to prove himself ahead of the NHL start in Febraury.

In the meantime, Daly's side will take on the winners of the Carlow v NUIG in the Walsh Cup on January 31st, while Pat Gilroy will be using Sunday's football clash to run the rule over his players ahead of Dublin's O'Byrne Cup opener at home to Wexford on January 10th.

Fingallians would like to advise people travelling to the game that Dublin Bus are operating a free service from Malahide DART station to Lawless Park. There will be no parking at the ground, but plenty of free parking will be available within a five minute walk of the venue.

The hurling throws in at 2pm and the football at 4pm. Admission is € 10, but tickets can be purchased at the club in advance for € 8. Children under-16 and OAPs will be admitted free of charge, but only with appropriate ID.
