ATHLETICS Fingallians Well done to Sarah Murray, Sarah McCarthy, Bronwyn Keogh, Megan Keogh and Shane Gore who competed in the National Indoor Track and Field at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast recently.

And well done to our ladies who represented the club at Balheary playing fields last Sunday week. Runners included Brona Snow, Ann Marie Gargan, Clodagh Whelan, Catherine Bennett, Josie Power, Fiona O'Brien, Paula Murray, Clare Hanna, Ciara Lee, Marie Power, Liz Garrad, Nuala Walsh, Phyllis Brown, Shauna Griffin, Deirdre Farrell, Sinead Moran, Reinhild Cullen and Laura Durkin. Lusk Next weekend sees the last of the cross-country runs for the winter. Our Under-13 boys team of Darren Ryan, James Ryan, Rory Sweetman and Brian Flynn travel to Lough Key forest park in Boyle to take part in the re-run of the Nationals competition. The lads have been training hard for this event and are hopeful of putting in a good show on the day.

This weekend also sees the start of the indoor competitions for the juvenile athletes. Over the next six weeks the juvenile athletes will be competing in long jump, high jump, shot put and sprint races in Santry and Tallaght. Training for adults and the juveniles continues each Tuesday night outside Lusk National School.

Our little athletes are also training hard every Tuesday from 6.30 to 7.15 at Lusk NS. Each week the number of athletes continues to grow, and as a result any additional mentors would be greatly appreciated.

Several of the mentors undertook training courses over the winter. The club recently held its agm which was very well attended and plans for the coming year are well under way.

Hard luck to the Under-8s and U10s who narrowly lost at the weekend.

The club would like to thank the new Juvenile sponsors Davick Transport and Country Crest. Clann Mhuire Congratulations to the ladies Under16 team who turned around an 11point half-time deficit to defeat St Annes in the Division 3 play-off final.

Our new Under-8 team played their first match on Saturday against Fingal Ravens. The U-10s and U-12s both lost out, whilst the U-16s were victorious over Skerries Harps.

The Intermediates and Juniors both lost out in their cup matches to Thomas Davis and St Annes respectively.

Membership is now overdue and is as follows: playing adult € 100, adult social € 30, juvenile € 30 and family membership (one or two adults and their children) € 120. Membership will be collected in the clubhouse on Wednesday from 5.30 to 6.30pm.

There was one winner of the club lotto jackpot of € 6,035 this week and the jackpot for the next draw will be € 935. Envelopes are only € 2 and are available from Reilly's Daybreak along with other local businesses and the usual sellers.

Fingallians There were wins in football this week for the Under-12A, U-13A, U-14 and the Junior 1 team in their first cup game. The U-8, U-9, U-10 and U-11 teams all had great wins at the Gormanston indoor hurling tournament.

Thank you to Cooley Kickhams in County Louth for their hospitality as they hosted our Minor team in a friendly at the weekend. Minor training will take place on Thursday at 7.30 and new players can still join the panel.

The club Golf Society now has a link on www.fingallians.ie with all the outings listed for 2010.

The adult club seven-a-side will take place this week on Tuesday, with the finals on Friday night at 7.30. Presentations to the winners will take place in the club afterwards. All members are welcome to attend.

The Awards Night 2010 will take place on Saturday March 27th. The Prickley Pairs Band will perform followed by a DJ until late.

Our Under-12 hurlers hosted Antrim Club O'Donavan Rossa in a hurling match on Sunday. Fins were the winners, 7-8 to 3-4. A big thankyou to them for visiting us and giving us a great game of hurling.

John Kearney has been appointed as manager for the Senior 2 footballers, who will operate in the AFL 6 this year. Kearney has previously managed underage teams. Fingal Ravens The Senior team play Trinity Gaels this Tuesday at 8pm in Balgriffin and Ballymun Kickhams on Saturday morning in Rolestown.

The Junior A team play St Finians (N) in Newcastle this Thursday at 8pm and the Minor team play Clontarf at 11am next Sunday in Rolestown in the league.

The Junior B team got off to a good start in the cup with a win over Lusk on Sunday. They play St Margarets in Rolestown next Sunday at 2.45pm.

The U-11s had a great win over Donabate on Saturday to stay top of their group.

The Cheltenham preview night will be on Thursday February 25th in Kettles Hotel. Tickets are on sale now at only € 20. Contact Maura Norton 087-9936458 or any committee member.

Please keep Thursday March 25th free for a poker classic. Micko White is on next week's lotto roster. Garristown Congratulations to the Under-8, U-11 and U-14 teams who had great wins over the weekend. The U-9s drew with Clontarf and hard luck to the U-10s who lost to Fingal Ravens.

The U-8s beat Man O'War, the U11s beat O'Tooles to make it three wins out of three in the cup and the U-14s beat Geraldine P Morans. The Intermediate team beat O'Dwyers in the cup by the narrowest of margins and the Ladies lost to Man O'War in a challenge game.

This is a hurling weekend, so there should be no games this week for the Juvenile teams. If there is a fixture a text will be sent by the relevant mentor. Any adult fixtures will also be notified by text.

There was no winner of the lotto last week. Numbers drawn were 13, 30, 35 and 37 and the € 20 winners were Anne Tormey, Aileen Reddington and Phyllis Mangan, while the sellers' prize went to Barbara. This week's jackpot is 2,530. Membership is now due – player 100, non-player and students 50 and family 120.

Training has recommenced for adult men's teams on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm in the pitch. Ladies have recommenced also with Spinning on a Monday, and on Wednesday on the pitch from 7-8.30pm. New members are always welcome.

Juvenile training is on Tuesdays at the later time of 6.30pm.

There will be a meeting in the clubhouse tomorrow ( Wednesday) at 8pm for anyone interested in playing Junior football this year.

The football season commenced on Sunday last with a narrow onepoint defeat for the first team against Ballyboden. The second team faired better with a three-point win over Thomas Davis.

Fixtures for the coming weekend see the first team away to Naomh Olaf in the Joy Cup and the second team away to Rosmini.

Tickets for the draw are now on sale and selling well. Are you prepared to take a chance? The draw will be on Wednesday the 24th, with the Race Night on Friday the 26th at 9pm in the clubhouse.

Adult training is on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm and new players and supporters are welcome.

Everyone at the club would like to express their condolences to the Donnegan and McDonnell families on there recent bereavements. Man O'War Hard luck to the first team who were beaten in the Loving Cup by Ballymun on Sunday.

The ladies had a challenge game against Garristown in midweek, and the club would like to thank the opposition for the match.

Juvenile training for boys and girls continues this Tuesday in North County CC. Under-8s, 10s and 12s train from 7-8pm along with the U-12 girls. Coaches and helpers are needed – be there for 6.50pm. Any new players interested in joining the club should contact Carrie Archer at 085-1006789.

A Club Committee meeting will take place tommorow night ( Wednesday) in Courtlough Gun Club at 9pm. All members must attend.

Visit our website www.manowargfc.com. Naomh Mearnóg Congratulations to our footballers who regained their Senior status with a wonderful win over Clanna Gael in the play-off final on Thursday night. This was a richly deserved award for a team that has been totally focused on this target for the last year. Well done to Ray, Richie, Tomo, Daire, Barry and the entire squad.

The Club now rejoins an elite group of clubs who play league and championship at Senior level in all four codes.

There is no rest for the wicked, and on Saturday afternoon it was off to Innisfails for the Under-21 football championship final. With seven of the squad ' double jobbing' from the week's earlier success, this was always going to be a determined efffort.

And so it was. After a fine hour's football the lads defeated Round Towers Clondalkin to record a footballing double.

Once again Ray and Richie were at the helm, ably assisted on this occasion by club vice-chairman Conor Kavanagh.

The first round of our Hurling Blitz took place at the weekend. With more than 100 players taking part, this was a huge success. The finals take place this weekend.

The Annual Registration night takes place on Friday the 26th at 8pm in the bar. All members are aked to pay

at membership fees on the night.

The Under-16 footballers defeated Ballymun in a tight encounter the week before last, but hard luck on Gar O'Driscoll and the Under-21 hurlers who lost by two points to Parnells in extra time of their replay.

Well done to David Byrne and Shane Ryan who performed well for the Dublin hurlers in their game against NUIG.

Club lotto numbers for the week before last were 5, 14, 21 and 24, and the€50 winners were D Nugent, M & S O'Croinín, J Cosgrove and the Kelly family.

We wish to remind all members that we show all major sporting events on our big screen. Food is served. O'Dwyers Hard Luck to the Inter team who were narrowly beaten by Garristown on Sunday –1-8 to 1-6.

Please note that the weekly skills camp has moved indoors for winter, and the nursery now takes place in the Sunshine House from 10.30 to 11.50am on Saturdays.

Adult training is as follows – football every Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30 to 9pm in O'Dwyers; camogie every Tuesday and Thursday on the all-weather pitch from 8pm; hurling every Wednesday at 8pm.

Bingo continues every Wednesday night in O'Dwyers GAA Club from 8.55pm – all welcome.

The 1st Private Members Draw will take place on Sunday February 28th at approximately 10pm. A few places are still available if any members are interested – € 10 a month to enter. Apologies for any confusion caused. St Colmcilles The adult football team started the cup competition season with a good four-point win at home to Round Towers (C).

Training continues this Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm in Balheary and the next match is on Sunday away to Park Rangers with a 2.45 throw-in.

The Under-14s were beaten by St Josephs in the league in Saturday, and their next game at home to Cluain Tarbh on Saturday at 3pm.

The club would like to thank all the volunteers who worked in the club last week in doing up the building. The clubhouse looks great. More work is needed in certain areas and we would hope to upgrade these areas as soon as possible.

Membership for the year is due and application forms are available from the bar staff and committee members.

Only fully paid members of the club before the end of February will be considered for forthcoming championship ticket requests, ie Dublin matches.

Club lotto envelopes are available costing € 2. Volunteers are sought for the 75th anniversary plans. St Finian's The new Boot Swap Shop commenced last Saturday week in the clubhouse. Many players brought the boots they had grown out of and swapped them for a new pair, for a token fee of € 2.

You don't have to bring an old pair in order to pick up a new pair, but if you have an old pair just make sure they are clean and the size is clearly marked on them and bring them along on a Saturday between 11am and 1pm.

Deepest condolences to the family of Mr McGuinness from Coláiste Choilm who passed away recently – RIP.

Last Sunday week's lotto numbers were 1, 6, 16, 21. The € 4,400 jackpot wasn't won, but € 50 went to Emmet Maher and Sean Kavanagh.

Membership fees are due – please ensure prompt payment. St Maurs Hard luck to the hurlers who lost the league final against St Brendans on Sunday, but there were some great result from Saturday for our Juvenile teams.

The U-14s had a great win away to St Sylvesters, the U-8s had some great games with St Peregrines and the U10s had a cracking match with St Margarets.

There were also good results from all age groups in Gormanston on Sunday, with the Academy and U-8s playing really well. The U-13s had a hard-earned victory over Mattock, whil the U-12s had wins over Beann Eadair and Trinity Gaels. Thanks to all the parents for their support.

The previous week the Under-12s had a good win away thank to very good performances from Shane Cumiskey and Niall McGoldrick.

Adult players are urgently needed to assist at coaching sessions. Contact any committee member.

There was a great night on Friday, with the presentation of medals to the U-12 boys and girls. Thanks to Ms McLoughlin, Ms McElligott, Mr McGinty and Mr Aherne. Thanks to mentors Fergus, Jacinta and Grainne and to Sinead Conroy for organising the night.

Thanks to all who attended the recent adult awards night and congrats to all award winners.

There was no winner of the club lotto and the jackpot now stands at € 3,750. The draw is on every Sunday night during bingo.

The Under-10s suffered a narrow defeat away to St Brigids in their first game of the year, winning one and losing one. This week's captains were Colm Kananagh and Orqo Hickey.

The U-12s had a great win against Whitehall Colmcilles, 3 -12 to 3-5. They were under pressure in first half but a great second-half display saw them win through in the end. The U13s won, but the 16s lost to a good St Sylvester's and the seconds lost to Scoil ui Chonnail.

Our Hurling team play their first competitive match against Erin go Breagh at 12.30 on Sunday next.

The club lotto wasn't won. Numbers drawn were 4, 9, 12, Bonus 22. This week's jackpots are (Match 3) € 720 and (Match 3 +Bonus) € 1,220.

Please see the website for details of our upcoming fundraisers – www.stpatsgaa.com. St Sylvester's Our senior football team had a very impressive victory over county finalists St Jude's in the St Vincent De Paul Cup. The juniors also had a very comfortable win over Good Council in the Conlon Cup.

At juvenile level the Under-13 team let a comfortable lead slip away in the last few minutes and lost by a single point to Lusk/Man O'War. The Under-14 A team also lost by a single point to St Maurs and the B team by two points to Raheny.

The Under-16 A team had an excellent two-point win over Ballymun in Division 1. The final score of 3-9 to 1-14 underlined the importance of the three well-taken goals. The B team had a big win away to St Patrick's.

The club sends sincere sympathy to mentor Fergus Byrne and his family on the sudden death of his father, John. The Under-15 team did not play as a mark of respect.

Please come along to the club next Friday to a members and registration night. There will be a free raffle with great prizes. The club is also subject to the ills of the recession and more than ever needs to get membership fees in.

The Under-15 football team travelled over to Dalkey to play Cuala last Sunday week and came home with a well deserved two-point win. The main ingredients of a very good performance were three first-half goals, excellent goalkeeping and very determined second-half defending.

The Under-13 team went on a goal spree against Naomh Olaf and won convincingly. Manager Paul O'Toole has obviously been busy in training.

The Under-11 teams achieved very good wins over O'Dwyers. In two high-scoring games they had eight points to spare, with an overall score of 12-12 to 11-7. In the only other game of that weekend the Under-14s were beaten by Castleknock. Skerries Harps The Senior and Junior footballers lost their opening cup matches to Na Fianna and Kilmacud respectively on Sunday. The Seniors are playing Lucan Sarsfields away on Sunday next at 11am, while the Junior 1 team play St Vincents at home on Sunday morning.

Both Minor football teams begin their league campaigns on Sunday 21st, with the firsts at home to Ballymun Kickhams at 11am, while the seconds play Raheny away at 11am. Good luck to all.

There were good wins in the Juvenile section by the Under-11 and U-16 footballers last weekend.

The finals and presentations of the Gormanston Indoor Hurling will take place on Sunday February 28th.

The club extends its sympathy to the Grimes family on the recent death of Bartle Grimes. May he rest in peace. Wild Geese Numbers drawn in the club lotto last week were 1, 12, 14, 16 and the € 20 winners were Pat Brown, Richard Monks and Ashling Corbally. The jackpot now stands at € 1,125.
