Seven heaven for ladies

FOLLOWING their defeat last week to Westmanstown, Skerries' home match against Leinster was seen as a great opportunity for the Ladies section to put the previous result behind them and register a good win. This they duly did by winning all four rinks and the overall, and in the process banked the maximum seven points.
The Men's section had a very difficult home match against Kenilworth, who despite being relegated from Division 1, are considered to be one of the better teams within the Bowling League of Ireland, with ambitions to return to the top flight next year.
Rinks 1 and 2 were well behind at the half-way mark, and whilst they did manage to narrow the gap, the visitors won both fairly comfortably.
On Rink 3 it was a much tighter affair, with very few shots separating the teams and the lead going back and forth. Following the 18th end the scores were level, but the loss of five shots on one end put paid to any thoughts of a home win.
Rink 4 was also very close, so much so that the result was in doubt right up until the final end, but the visitors eventually scraped home by just two shots.
Final score: Skerries 61 shots [0pt] Kenilworth 103 [7pts] -In the Veterans section the Skerries men were beaten by a Crumlin side who are bang on top form.
