FINGALLIANS secured their place in the quarter finals courtesy of an emphatic 23 point win over O'Tooles in Ayrfield on Sunday morning. On Wednesday they had defeated Faughs on a 2-11 to 1-11 scoreline to avenge their league defeat in June.

Both of their goals had come in the first half though John Matthew Sheridan and Dan Davern, who having picked up an injury at corner forward was put in goals for their second game.

O'Toole's, having withdrawn from the league, had posted the first two scores but then went 50 minutes without scoring during which time Barry Mullane registered a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, in the Junior B championship, an under strength O'Dwyers team missing the Tuckey brothers and Johnny McGarry lost out on a 6-14 to 1-14 scoreline to Lucan Sarsfields in Arthur Griffith Park with Willie Lawrence registering 1-8 for the Balbriggan outfit.
