Geese to host camogie open day

Wednesday February 17 2010

WILD Geese GAA club will be holding a Camogie open day on Sunday (February 21st).

The club has entered an Under-13 team into the 2010 Dublin Camogie Leagues and Championship.

Currently part of the established juvenile hurling section, many girls have played hurling for the last three years, but mixed hurling is not permitted from U-13 upwards.

Juvenile hurling was only established three years ago and this season the club intends to field no fewer than six juvenile hurling teams â?“ comprised of children from Oldtown, Rolestown, St Margarets, Garristown, Ballyboughal and other surrounding areas.

The good will and interaction from the neighbouring clubs has been a key ingredient in the initial success of establishing hurling in rural north county Dublin.

All girls are welcome on Sunday, be they current members or not, and no previous experience is required.

If you cannot make it but are interested, please call Mary on 018405874 or the juvenile chairman Sean Flatley on 086-2305456.
