PLAYED in perfect conditions on the well prepared Rush pitch, Maurs ran out comfortable winners in an entertaining game. Maurs opened well and had points from Paul McAllister, Conor Donegan and Paddy Sheridan to go in front, but Judes responded with a well taken goal to level the game on seven minutes.

The response was swift as Craig Harford found the net to put Maurs back in front. Points from Donegan, Harford and Eoghan Conway kept St Maurs well in front but just on half time Judes scored another goal to leave Maurs in front at half time, 1-9 to 2-3. Maurs needed a good start to the second half and Paddy Sheridan hit 2 early points which was followed by a goal from the hard working Jason Herbert who finished neatly after being set up by Paul Kennedy. Further points followed and when Craig Harford fired home his second goal Maurs were in total control.

Points from Harford, McAllister and Donegan sealed an important win for Maurs to keep them challenging for silverware.

Best for Maurs were Davy Fitzpatrick in goal, the impressive Philly Kavanagh who was outstanding in defence along with Morgan Doran at full back and Paul Kennedy at No 6.

Paddy Sheridan and Paul McAllister controlled the centre of the field while Craig Harford with 2-3, Eoghan Conway and Jason Herbert worked hard up from. Sam McGuinness appears to be back to his best and on this performance will push for a place with the Fingal hurlers when the national league resumes. ST MAUR'S: Craig Harford 2-3. Paddy Sheridan 0-6 ( 0-2f, 0-1 ' 65'), Conor Donegan 0-6 ( 0-2f), Paul McAllister 0-3, Jason Herbert 1-0, Eoghan Conway 0-1.
