Games are under way

DUBLIN Community Games have launched their programme of activities for 2010 which sees almost 40 different sports and cultural activities on offer.
This year competitions range from athletics to art, soccer to swimming, and judo to gymnastics. Competitions got under way last Friday with the Under-13 and Under-16 Chess Finals, but Sunday's scheduled handball finals were cancelled because of a lack of entries.
Looking to the year ahead, chairperson Brian MacManus said: '2009 was a hugely successful year, and we're looking to build on that by introducing new areas and increasing the number of participants.
