Killalane weekend schedule unveiled

LOUGHSHINNY Motor Cycle Supporters Club have announced their schedule for the last road event of the season, the Country Crest Killalane Road Races. Roads will close on Saturday September 11th at 1pm, opening no later than 7pm, and after practice there will be two races.
The Darren Lindsay non-championship 600 race, sponsored by Golf Road Nurseries, will take place over six laps, followed by the Classic A race, sponsored by the Seaver Family/ C& T Supermarket, again over six laps. On Sunday September 12th roads will close at 9.30 and open no later than 6.30. The nine-race programme will start with the 250 Irish Championship, sponsored by the Loughshinny Club, over six laps, followed by the 401750 Support Championship race, sponsored by the Martin Finnegan Supporters Club, again over six laps. The Open Championship 201-1010 race, sponsored by Des D'Arcy Motors, is next, followed by the Classic B Race, sponsored by Kennedy Motor Cycles.
The Circuit Catering Junior Support 201-400 will be followed by the 125/ 450 race, sponsored by the Mermaid Bar/ Friends of Hughie Ritchie. Next up will be the 650 Super twins, again sponsored by the Loughshinny Club, and the Country Crest Grand Final race will bring down the curtain on another Irish Road Race season. The Road Safety Authority has chosen Killalane to show off their Interactive Simulator Shuttle, and this will be the first time this shuttle will be seen at a road race.
The debut is to encourage everyone to come along and see the state-ofthe-art simulator that is programmed to experience riding a bike, driving a car, bus and truck.
This training tool can reproduce a catalogue of incidents and potential road hazards that road users can face whilst using the roads in Ireland.
