FIFTEEN athletes from Lusk AC took part in last weekend's Dublin Indoor Championships and were rewarded with four silver medals. The runner-up places were achieved by Shane Mcnally (Under-18 long jump), Linda Djougang (Under-17 shot putt) and Brian Flynn and Sarah Parker (Under-16 shot putt). In the middle-distance races at Tallaght Stadium, Aishling Tcheutchoua ran well in her Under-9 500m race. Sean Cunningham took part in his first Indoor championships at Under-10 and at Under-11 Hannah Ryan, Kyle Mcnally, and Conor Gleeson did very well in their 600m events. Nelda Tcheutchoua was Lusk's only Under-12 runner, as was Adam Mcnally at Under-13. Tara Gleeson was well in contention in her 800m Under-14 race, Brian Flynn finished well in the Under-16 200m and Shane Mcnally competed in the Under-18 800m race. At Santry on Sunday, Lusk's athletes were up against the cream of Dublin athletes. Nevertheless, Eabha Mcnally and Emily Lovely-mullen scored personal bests in the Under-11 long jump and Maeve Flynn and Tara Gleeson also recorded PBS in the Under-14 shot. At the end of a long day, Tara also had to compete among a group of excellent long jumpers.
