Season of social nights in full swing
THE busy scene that is riders' fundraisers will see the next few months a busy time for the social nights, and the following are those that have been notified to me. The first is Retink Racing, which is a Moto X Team, and this year it will consist of five riders. It is €5 entry, and they are having a raffle to pick out three additional sponsors. They will also be having a spot prize raffle followed by an auction. This night will be held in The Hills Cricket Club Skerries on Saturday 3rd March at 8pm. The following are the team riders. Jordan Keogh MX2 Premier - Competing in Irish, Ulster, Southern Centre and Under 21 Championships; Stefan Byrne MX1 Premier - Competing in Irish, Ulster and Southern Centre Championships; Jason Vaughan MX2 Expert - Competing in Irish, Ulster and Southern Centre Championships; Alan Scott MX1 Clubman - Competing in Irish, Southern Centre and Over 35 Championships; James Callaghan Clubman - Competing in Irish, Ulster and Southern Centre Championships; Joshua Keogh 50cc Automatic - Competing in Irish, Ulster and Southern Centre Championships. -Team Hardship Racing presents a tribute night in memory of Adrian Mcfarland in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk, Co Louth (J 16 M1) on Saturday 3rd March. Adrian, or Adi as he was known, tragically lost his life in a racing accident whilst competing at the Terlicko Road Races in the Czech Republic on 27th August 2011. The format for the night will be a chat show with top road racing stars, and an auction of racing memorabilia as well as other items, a raffle for top-class prizes - and all this followed by DJ Kevin Clarke who will keep the place rocking until the early hours. Doors open from 8 until late - admission €10. -Balbriggan rider Wayne Hall will hold his fundraising night on Friday 9th March in the Balrothery Inn, starting at 8pm. There will be music, a raffle, and finger food on the night. Tickets are €10 each. -Ciaran Donnelly will hold his night in Ollie's Place in Skerries on Friday 23rd March, with admission at €10. Ciaran's own band Equipped will provide the music, and tickets are available from Ciaran at 0861503286. -Lusk rider Noel Murphy will hold his fundraising night in the Round Towers GAA clubhouse in Lusk on Friday 20th April, with admission at €10. Music will be provided by Upside-down, who is helping Noel by providing their services free. Noel has qualified for his road race licence and will be on the grid for his first race at Cookstown.
