ATHLETICS: Lusk It was another busy weekend for the athletes. On Saturday they travelled to Santry to take part in the Dublin Indoor Championship of the 60m races. Kyle McNally, Sean Larkin, Adam McNally, Tara Gleeson, Kathalin Ivory, Ciaran Archer and Brian Flynn all did very well in what was a very competitive series of races.
On Sunday many of the same athletes travelled to Tallaght AC to take part in 500m, 600m and 800m races. Despite the cold it was a most enjoyable and competitive day.
Next weekend Shane McNally will take part in the 1500m championship race and the Under-14 boys will represent the club in a relay race.

A number of adult races are coming up in the near future. Of special note is a 5K run at 4.15am in Phoenix Park on Saturday May 8th. This race is organised by Pieta House who assist those dealing with suicide and self-harm. The race is symbolic of the journey from dark into light. Your support of this very worthy cause is appreciated and you can register online at www.pieta.ie.
GAA
Ballyboughal
Well done to the first team who had a hard-fought one-point win over St Finians of Newcastle in the Division 4 league. The second team lost to St Maurs in the league.
Best of luck to Richie Downey and Gerry Seaver who are both on the Dublin panel who play Louth in the Leinster Under-21 Football Championship quarter-final on Saturday in Dundalk.

Clann Mhuire
The Intermediates defeated St Margarets in their first league outing of the year, whilst the Juniors were defeated by Wild Geese. The ladies beat St Patrick's of Stamullen in a challenge.
The Intermediates play St Sylvesters in the Loving Cup on Sunday at 12.30pm, whilst the juniors face Craobh Chiarain in the Murphy Cup at 3.30 later that day – both matches in Naul.
Membership is now overdue and is as follows: playing adult € 100, adult social € 30, juvenile € 30 and family membership (one or two adults and their children) € 120.
A Poker Classic takes place in Killians on Tuesday March 16th. Tickets are € 25 and available from all committee members.
Envelopes for the club lotto are only € 2 and are available from Reilly's Daybreak, along with other local businesses and the usual sellers.

Fingallians
Last weekend saw wins for the Junior 6 footballers, the U-11A, U-11B and U12A teams and also great performances from our U-11 and U12A hurlers. The senior footballers were narrowly beaten by Skerries in the league.
In the Sigerson Cup Final it was DCU 1-11 UCC 0-10, with a notable performance from Paul Flynn for the victors.
Please note that Fingallians will now host the Foundation Award course on Friday March 12th at 7pm sharp, Monday 22nd and Wednesday 24th at 7.30pm sharp, finishing at 9.30pm.
The course will be geared towards new mentors / parents / guardians who are willing to get involved.

Fingal Ravens
There will be a Poker Classic in Kettles Hotel on Thursday March 25th, Contact Peter Kettle to book tickets, which cost € 50 each.
The Cheltenham preview night last Thursday was a great success. Thanks to all who helped to make this night happen and thanks in particular to Maura Norton and John Hussey and of course the MC and panel on the night.
The Division 11 team had a good win away to St Brendans in the league, and the Minor team play St Sylvesters in the league at 11am next Sunday in Malahide Castle.
All adult teams have cup games next weekend, the firsts at home to Thomas Davis, the seconds away to St Annes both at 12.30; and the third team away to Erins Isle at 3.30pm.

Garristown
Congratulations to the Under-14s who beat Oliver Plunketts last Saturday. Hard luck to the Intermediate and Junior teams who were beaten at the weekend.
Juvenile fixtures will be notified by text through the relevant mentor.
The Intermediate Team are due to play St Brigids in Russell Park on Sunday at 12.30pm in the cup.
There was no winner of the lotto last week. Numbers drawn were 2, 9, 13, and 37 and the € 20 winners were Jerome Moore, Bryan Ennis and Margaret Clince. The sellers' prize went to Phyllis Managan.
This week's jackpot is € 2,780. Direct debit forms are now available from any committee member. You can play three lines for € 20 per month or one line for € 8 per month. Membership is now due – player € 100, non-player and students € 50, OAPs € 40 and family € 120. It must be paid by March 15th.
Training for adult men's teams is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm in the pitch. Ladies train on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm. New members are always welcome. Juvenile training is on Tuesdays at 6.30pm.
The dinner dance took place last Friday night. Thanks to all those who supported it and congratulations to all those who received medals on the night.

Man O'War
The first team got their Division 4 league campaign off to a tremendous start, with a 12-point win over Erins Isle – 2-11 to 0-5.
Juvenile training continues on Tuesdays in North County CC – 7 to 8pm for Under-8s/9s and 8 to 9pm for Under-10s/12s. New players are always welcome.
The first team will play St Monicas in the Loving Cup next Saturday in Edenmore at 6pm.

Naomh Mearnóg
Our Senior footballers got off to a good start in the league with a deserved win over Cuala. Well done to young Jamie Walsh who scored a goal and four points.
We had wins also at Under-8, 9, 10 and 11 level for our young hurlers. The Under-15 footballers put on a fine display to defeat a strong Castleknock squad.
Our three adult hurling teams are in action next weekend. We ask all players to ensure that they are available.
We wish to remind the ladies football mentors that the Juvenile competitions commence this weekend.
On Friday March 12th we are holding a major fund-raising quiz for our Juvenile section – four people per table, € 40 euro per table. Please support this important event. Contact Cecil Ryan or Conor Kavanagh for more details.
St Patrick's night sees the return of the popular group Loose Chippings, and on the 27th Joe Fortune will entertain us.
We remind all members that oustanding membership fees must be paid immediately.
O'Dwyers
Please note that the weekly skills camp has moved indoors for the winter, and the nursery now takes place in the Sunshine House from 10.30 to 11.50 on Saturday mornings.
Adult training – football every Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30 to 9pm in O'Dwyers; camogie training every Tuesday and Thursday on the all-weather pitch from 8pm; and hurling training every Wednesday at 8pm.
Hard luck to the Inter and Junior footballers who both were beaten at the weekend.
Bingo continues every Wednesday night in O'Dwyers GAA Club at 8.55pm – all welcome.

The O'Dwyers Awards Night is taking place on Saturday March 13th in the clubhouse. There will be music and food on the night. Doors open at 8.30pm and tickets are € 10 each or € 15 for you and a partner – all welcome. Our Bumper Draw will take place that night. Tickets for the Bumper Draw are € 10 each, or € 20 for a book of three. First prize is a holiday in France, second prize a weekend away and third prize an Easter hamper.
St Colmcilles
An understrength adult team were beaten away to Clontarf in the league opener last Sunday in St Annes Park.
Training continues tonight and Thursday at 7.30pm sharp, and if you can't make it, then please let your manager know.
Cup action resumes on Sunday with a home fixture against Erins Isle – throw in at 3.30pm.
The Under-14s train on Monday evening – no game this weekend as it's a hurling weekend. A full list of fixtures for the season is posted on the noticeboard and copies were given our to players last week at training.
Outstanding and renewal membership should be paid as soon as possible, and club lotto envelopes are available at a cost of € 2.
Nominations for the 75th All-Time Team are available from Thursday. A schedule of events for the 75th Anniversary of the club is work in progress and the club would welcome any suggestions for the year.
The Easter Draw will take place on Sunday April 4th, and tickets cost € 10.
St Finian's Swords
Our adult teams had a mixed weekend, with our first team winning against Clontarf and our other two teams going down to Naomh Barrog in both ties.
Our Under-10 hurling team finished in third place in the Gormanston Indoor Tournament.
The Coaching Evening for Hurling Mentors has been deferred until next Monday at 8.30pm. The next Juvenile Committee meeting is tonight ( Tuesday).
The Easter Camp is on from Tuesday April 6th to Friday the 9th. The cost is € 40 per child, € 60 for two children and € 70 for three children.
The camp is proudly sponsored by Peacocks Steakhouse and an application form will be available early next week. Each child will receive a new St Finian's t-shirt and medal and the Dublin footballers will be stopping by to have a look in on the action of the week.
Application forms and fee can be given to James Devlin, Maree McDonagh or any team manager.
The Lotts pub are proudly sponsoring the adult ladies team for this year. Thanks to Declan and Dave in the Lotts for the new set of jerseys. There was no winner of last week's € 4,700 lotto jackpot, with the numbers drawn 12, 14, 19, 21. The € 50 winners were Johnny & Dee Doyle and Linda Kelly. The jackpot now stands at € 4,800.
St Patrick's Donabate
Congratulations to our first team who beat Naomh Mearnóg 1-13 to 2-8 – a hard-fought win! There are no Juvenile results to hand.
We are running a race night next Tuesday in Keelings at 8pm, with a special appearance from Barry Geraghty – admission € 10. Tickets are available from Tracey Kiernan or Jody McGahan.

St Sylvester's
It was a great start to the adult football leagues, with three wins and a draw for the four teams. The senior team had a six-point win at home to Judes and hope to continue their winning start to the season when they travel to Saggart on Wednesday to play St Mary's in the semi-final of the 2009 Vincent de Paul Cup. Both of the junior football teams had good home wins.
Ireland's flag-bearer and Sylvester's hurler Shane O'Connor's 51st place in the men's slalom at the Winter Olympics was a great achievement. Shane is certainly a rare talent.
The adult ladies are running a Quiz Night Fundraiser on Friday March 12th at 8.30pm. There promises to be lots of challenges, craic and prizes, including a monster raffle, so come along and join the ladies and help to get their season off to a great start. Contact anyone in the ladies section to book a table for your team.
Many thanks to firefighter Fergus Byrne for again giving an excellent first-aid course to mentors.

The week before last the Under16s lost to Na Fianna by 3-7 to 1-5. Na Fianna enjoyed good height advantage in midfield and were able to feed their inside forwards for the vital goals.
The Under-12A team lost their unbeaten record by losing to Clontarf. The score was 1-7 to 1-4. Clontarf got the all-important winning goal with five minutes to go.
The Under-12B team claimed the honours against St Vincent's. After a slow start with some missed opportunities they found their shooting range and kept their unbeaten record intact.
Skerries Harps
The Senior footballers, sponsored by McMeel's Pharmacy, had a great win against Fingallians – 1-12 to 3-5 – in the first round of the AFL2 on Sunday last, while the AFL6 footballers also prevailed over O'Tooles to start their league campaign in impressive fashion. The Junior 2 team lost to St Margarets by the minimum margin.
The Minor 1 team play St Vincents on Sunday away at 11am, while the Minor 2 team entertain St Judes at 11am. There were good wins for the Under-10 hurlers and Under-16A footballers.
