BALSCADDEN Boys hit eight goals against a spirited St Ita's Portrane team in Saturday's Johnville Cup game, played up in Newbridge House.
There was a festive air to the game, with well-known referee 'Santa' – also known as as JE Maher – supervising proceedings on the day.
St Ita's battled right to the final whistle, but hat-tricks by Sean Corr and Peter Coscoran along with good displays from Thomas Morgan, Jack Carolan, Andrew McCormack, Alan Leonard and Jordan O'Byrne, ensured a quarter-final spot for the boys in blue.
